Hello! It seems like forever since I've written a blog post. So much has changed that instead of recanting what was, I will instead tell you about what will be.

This school year, I'll be offering home school lessons and classes during the day, as well as lessons in the evening. I'll be working a bit more with my barbershop chorus and since I have signed on as "Show Chair" I'm planning our winter show! I'm so excited about our "Seasons of Love" show that I'm just beginning to put together.

This past weekend, I went to a conference for chorus directors and choreographers in the Sweet Adeline's International organization. I was so blown away by all the fantastic speakers at this event! I learned so much and can't wait to start sharing and applying all the brand new knowledge and insights I've gained.

One of the speakers was a woman named Jennie Morton. She is an osteopath and a psychologist who is also a trained ballet dancer and singer. Her global view of the performer's anatomy was astonishing. Being able to "hear someone's foot problem in their singing voice" was just one of the MANY unbelievable things she shared with us. She explained how tension just about anywhere in the body can have an effect on a singer's voice; it isn't only affected by neck, shoulders, lungs... the usual suspects. Anyway, there was far too much information given to be able to share every bit of it, but I've included her healthy performers website in my recommended websites section. You truly should check her out!
