My Chorus Competition

Hey everyone! It's been a minute since I posted a new blog entry, and for that I apologize. I've been pretty busy with my new teaching job, still giving voice lessons, and I've recently taken two trips; one to Boston for a concert and friend reunion, and a cruise to the Bahamas which was also a giant friend reunion. On top of all that, the Barbershop Chorus that I'm in has been preparing for competition.

That's right! Next weekend, the majority of my 35 person chorus will be traveling from Fort Lauderdale to Daytona Beach, Florida for our regional contest. This includes choruses from South Carolina, Georgia, and all over Florida. We've all been working hard getting our costumes, booking hotel rooms, figuring out our matching make up, and of course... practicing our songs! It's a lot of work, but we're really showing how much time we've put into all of this!

Most of my family, friends, and coworkers are unable to make the trip to Daytona to support South Florida Jubilee Chorus in competition, and that's completely understandable! HOWEVER, this year, the contest will be live streamed online for people to watch from home! Isn't that cool??? I thought so.

So, the contest is Saturday, March 25th from 12:30-5:00pm. SFJ Chorus is contestant #12 and we are scheduled to perform at approximately 2:49pm, but I've been told that sometimes things run a little behind schedule.
